Class: Polyamory Through Life Changes – with Tim, Evelyn, and Petroglyph

March 19 @ 8:00 pm - 9:30 pm

$10

Major life changes – marriage, birth, death, extended illness, and more – can have significant impacts on your relationships. How do we navigate these changes and transitions when they occur within our polyamorous networks? How does being polyamorous impact the ways that we prepare for and approach major life events? What are some of the practical, emotional, and legal considerations for navigating these events and the changes that come with them?

Tim, Evelyn, and Petroglyph will lead a discussion based on some of their own experiences, and invite you to come with your own questions and lessons learned.

_____
Evelyn is a Black Rose EBM and the current Vice President of BR, as well as a regular presenter at Dungeon 101. In her over 10 years in the scene, Evelyn has served as a staff member and presenter for various organizations and events, participated in several polyamorous relationships, and learned a LOT.

Tim (aka Kinksville) has been involved in the DC scene for over a decade, and practiced polyamory for about the same amount of time. He started out in the scene in 2005 based on an interest in rope and a then-recent breakup. Jumping into polyamory at the deep end led to lots of mistakes and learning experiences. 13 years later, it has also led to multiple relationships, some of which are still ongoing, and a recent marriage to Evelyn. Part of the genesis for this class was realizing that they didn’t have a roadmap for how to navigate getting married as polyamorous people with existing relationships and how that might change those relationships.
Petroglyph had a brief fling with monogamy in the early aughts before
deciding it was far too much work. She’s been participating in the DC
scene since 2005; her kink activity level varies, but her
identification as polyamorous is constant. Over the years she’s
supported or celebrated (as appropriate) partners as they married,
divorced, moved, became newly bereaved, and became new parents. She’d
like to think she’s better at this polyamory thing than when she
started, but she’s still constantly learning.
