Tues Education: Knife Play 301 with Sasquatch
July 25 @ 8:00 pm - 9:30 pm$10
Going Beyond Sensation Play. If you are familiar with knife safety and first aid, are tired of knife play basics, but aren’t looking to slice open your partner on purpose, then you’re ready for Knife Play 301. This class is designed for mid- to advanced-level knife players from both sides of the blade. While specifically NOT for beginners, both knife tops and knife bottoms may learn something. It focuses on everything from how to handle things when (not if, but when) blood appears in the scene, to learning more about where you can and can’t put a knife – both from a common sense perspective and from a RACK perspective. Familiarity with the basics of knife play (from either side of the blade) as well as a rudimentary knowledge of first aid will be assumed for all attendees.
No one will be admitted after 8:30 p.m. to ensure a consistent level of safety
for the entire class.
Sasquatch hasn’t always been into knife play – but once he got started, he quickly became a convert. After attending all the beginner classes he could find, he began looking for more advanced classes but found none that did not specifically promote blood-play. He researched and practiced more advanced techniques on and with others who were similarly frustrated. Although there were classes on cutting and scarification, he found no one teaching anything above beginner-level knife play, so he sat down and created one. He has previously taught on this and other topics at BESS (Baltimore, MD), The Society (Hartford, CT), and even for BR, both at BRXX and as a regular Tuesday class (Washington, DC) in the past, and is looking forward to teaching again for BR’s education series. Sas is a Black Rose Emeritus Board Member and is part of the BR Communications, Gateway, and IT teams. He also serves as a volunteer staff member at The Crucible.
$5 for members and members of reciprocal groups. $10 for nonmembers. Cash only please!
ASL Interpreters are available upon request. Please give us two weeks notice. Email ASL@br.org for more information.
Join us for the Black Rose Meet & Greet from 6:15 to 7:45 at The Crucible for a “BYO Brown Bag” Munch. Come enjoy food, fun discussions, and meet like-minded folks. The presenter for the evening’s class usually joins us for great conversation.
The Meet & Greet also has a sizable regular TNG crowd (those ages 18-35). If you’re new and/or want to connect with people your own age, email email@example.com and one of our coordinators will be happy to answer any questions, introduce you around, and generally make sure you’re comfortable.
ALL ARE WELCOME!
