Please give us two weeks’ notice. \n\nClass Description\nToday’s tools and technology provide a number of opportunities for service. From organizing travel\, planning meals\, keeping a butler book\, and more\, we will talk about how to enhance your service via technology. This class also discusses using these tools to help with other service challenges\, like memory and organization. \nPresenter Bio\nAJ Renard (she/her) has been involved in the BDSM world her entire adult life\, although she was a dark little thing far before that. AJ is an AASECT Certified Sex Therapist and has a deep passion for teaching about the intersection of BDSM and mental health. She finds her happy place when there is rope\, electricity\, knives\, boots\, fear\, and a lot of crying involved. \nAJ teaches a variety of classes about consent\, negotiations\, perspectives on D/s\, bottoming for intense scenes and edgeplay\, mental health and BDSM\, and behavioral science in PE dynamics. Additionally\, she often teaches about BDSM in non-kink spaces\, hoping to de-stigmatize kink for therapists and medical professionals. She also loves demo bottoming for Violet Wand demos\, and things that make her shy in front of groups of people. \n\nTo minimize disruption\, there will be no admittance after 8:30. \nThis is not a play party. In this workshop\, we’ll explore how to maintain authority\, control\, and presence even while your body is receiving. Through discussion\, demos\, and guided exercises\, we’ll unpack strategies for commanding the pace\, tone\, and energy of the scene\, whether you’re with one partner or many. \nParticipants will learn: \n\nTechniques for staying in charge while in physically “submissive” positions\nNegotiation tools to establish clear expectations and boundaries\nBody language\, voice\, and psychological strategies that reinforce dominance\nWays to navigate shifting power dynamics with confidence and creativity\n\nThis class is designed for Dominants\, Switches\, and anyone curious about holding power in positions that are often coded as passive. This class is also for submissives who like being the active partner. All genders\, orientations\, and experience levels are welcome. Come ready to challenge assumptions\, sharpen your skills\, and claim your dominance\, no matter what your body is doing. \nPresenter Bio\nSkeleton_Bitch (they/them)\, aka Lizzie\, aka Picasso of Pain\, is a disabled\, genderfluid dominant/sadist/artist. They are one of the hosts of the monthly queer-centered play party\, @qinkdc\, and the Director of Education for @br_BlackRose. They have been participating in kink since 2006 and part of the DMV kink community since 2022. They have been navigating the nuances of being kinky while living with multiple chronic illnesses and being autistic with ADHD (AuDHD) and what that means for them as a dominant\, top\, and organizer. We’ll dig into the realities of navigating kink spaces\, from spotting red flags and verifying reputations to understanding how manipulation\, performative dominance\, and community dynamics can complicate even the most seasoned kinkster’s judgment. \nDuring this discussion\, we’ll explore \n\nThe fundamentals of effective vetting (online and in-person)\nWhy gatekeeping is dangerous\nHow predators\, opportunists\, and “role players” slip through the cracks\nWhy experience can sometimes make people less cautious\nBuilding trusted networks and using community knowledge wisely\nAsking the hard questions that protect you before you play\n\nCome ready for Real Talk\, shared experiences\, and practical tools to help you move through kink spaces with clarity and confidence. \nAll skill levels/kink levels are welcome; This is a great class for newbies to the scene as well as veterans\, as a refresher course. \nTotal time: 90 minutes \nThis class will involve participation from the crowd\, where we hope we can invite people to ask questions and share their own stories of vetting wins or fails.
