Whether you’re stepping into your first presentation or refining your approach after years of community teaching\, this interactive workshop will help you share your ideas with clarity\, confidence\, and impact. Many passionate kink and alternative sexuality educators know their material deeply—but that doesn’t always translate into effective planning or delivery\, especially for adult learners.\nDesigned for both new and experienced presenters\, this session offers practical strategies for building inclusive\, engaging presentations that connect. You’ll leave with tools to plan\, deliver\, and grow—whether you’re teaching a single class or building a workshop series.\nThis workshop is intentionally content-rich—not to overwhelm\, but to plant seeds you can return to as you grow. Peer connection and feedback are built in\, giving you space to reflect\, refine\, and step forward with purpose.\nWhether your goal is to teach one great class or develop a full presenter portfolio\, this session will help you get there.\nParticipants will explore how to:\n• Choose the right session format and structure\n• Use backward design to create focused\, learner-centered sessions\n• Engage adult learners through accessible\, interactive delivery\n• Plan for technology hiccups and diverse accessibility needs\n• Navigate emotional triggers\, challenges to authority\, and in-the-moment teaching stressors\n• Build confidence through rehearsal\, peer connection\, and self-critique\n• Request and apply feedback to improve future presentations\n• Feel empowered to reach out to conferences and organizations with confidence \nLearning Objectives \nBy the end of this session\, participants will be able to:\n– Reflect on personal motivations and how they shape teaching presence\n– Identify the core components of an effective and engaging presentation\n– Apply key principles of adult learning and accessibility\n– Choose the most appropriate session format for their content and goals\n– Apply backward design to structure focused and learner-centered sessions\n– Integrate interactive\, inclusive\, and accessible elements into their delivery\n– Build confidence through practical strategies\, rehearsal\, and peer feedback\n– Handle real-time challenges with professionalism and composure\n– Use feedback and peer networking to refine and grow as a presenter \nAttendees will leave with a planning toolkit that supports their continued growth as clear\, confident\, and compelling community educators. \nThis session is ideal for both experienced and aspiring presenters who are passionate about their content and want to improve their presentation skills. Designed with newer educators\, facilitators\, and community leaders in mind—this workshop also offers valuable insights for seasoned practitioners looking to refresh their approach or support others in becoming confident educators. \nParticipants should come prepared with note-taking materials and questions or ideas they have for classes they want to teach.  \nPresenter Bio\nNoire LeGrande is a seasoned facilitator with over 20 years of experience in the public sector\, where she has coached\, supported\, and evaluated adults in developing their skills as effective educators and leaders.
