SUMMARY:Setting the Scene: Adding Theatrical Elements to Your Play with Lettera
DESCRIPTION:Accessibility accommodations are available upon request to accessibility@br.org. Please give us two weeks’ notice. \n\nClass Description\nDo you wish your kink scenes and play were more creative? Do you want to plan high concept scenes? Do you want to spice up your sex life? We call it *play* for a reason! Here\, we learn from the world of theatre to expand the possibilities of our play. From aesthetic elements such as makeup\, costumes\, and lighting; emotion heightening aspects such as scene premise\, character development\, and atmospheric sounds or music; and becoming a true prop *master* by creatively using props or pervertables. The opportunities are endless! Now’s the chance to come be the star of your own play! \nPresenter Bio\nLettera\, (they/she) has been in the scene for about 5 years now following a post pandemic renaissance where they vowed to go to as many class and events in the community as time and money allowed. A self-ascribed Fairy Kink Mother and Chaos Switch\, they have been demo topping knives and impact and teaching for the last two years. Their background in theatre\, organizing\, and psychology inform both their play and their teachings. You may not recognize them immediately at events because they often can be found in different dramatic makeup looks doing high concept theatrical scenes in many different roles. \n\nTo minimize disruption\, there will be no admittance after 8:30. \nThis is not a play party. Do not attempt to engage in scenes or solicit others for play\, except for labbing as part of a workshop-style class. \nTickets are $5 for Black Rose Members and Members of Reciprocal Groups with their Membership Card and $10 for non-members. \nAll ticket sales are at the door. \nEmail info@br.org for more information about Black Rose or its events. \nIf you have questions or would like to request a class topic\, please email education@br.org

SUMMARY:Impact 101 with Nytemare
DESCRIPTION:Accessibility accommodations are available upon request to accessibility@br.org. Please give us two weeks’ notice. \n\nClass Description\nThe Introduction to Impact Play 101 is a beginner-level BDSM class designed to provide a safe and accessible introduction to the world of impact play. This unique workshop utilizes pool noodles as demonstration tools\, allowing participants to explore various techniques while emphasizing the importance of consent\, communication\, and safety. \nLed by experienced practitioners in a non-judgmental and inclusive environment\, this class focuses on the fundamentals of impact play\, which involves striking or spanking the body with various implements. By using pool noodles\, participants can learn and practice the techniques without causing harm or discomfort to one another. \nDuring the workshop\, participants will be introduced to a range of techniques\, including light tapping\, rhythmic spanking\, and more intense impacts. The instructors will demonstrate proper body positioning\, wrist action\, and targeting to ensure the desired sensation and minimize the risk of injury. They will also emphasize the importance of reading verbal and non-verbal cues from their partners\, promoting active consent and open communication. \nIn addition to teaching impact techniques\, the class will cover essential do’s and don’ts regarding where to hit. This includes discussions on sensitive areas to avoid\, such as joints\, kidneys\, spine\, and face\, and focusing on the safe zones like the buttocks and upper thighs. Understanding the body’s anatomy and limits is crucial in impact play to ensure a consensual and pleasurable experience for both partners. \nSafety and consent are paramount throughout the workshop. Participants will learn about negotiation\, setting boundaries\, and implementing safe words or signals to establish clear communication and maintain a safe and enjoyable play environment. The instructors will also address aftercare\, emphasizing the importance of providing comfort and support to participants after an impact scene. \nWhether you are new to BDSM or looking to expand your knowledge and skills in impact play\, Impact Play 101 offers a welcoming and educational experience. Join us to learn the art of impact play\, foster trust and communication\, and explore the exhilarating world of BDSM in a safe and consensual manner. \nPresenter Bio\nI have been active in the kink community since 1998\, beginning as a submissive and now as a dominant. I am the happy owner of my boy Len for the past 8 years and enjoy sharing my knowledge with others. \n\nTo minimize disruption\, there will be no admittance after 8:30. \nThis is not a play party. SUMMARY:CANCELED: Blow Jobs 101 with MoProblems
DESCRIPTION:Accessibility accommodations are available upon request to accessibility@br.org. Please give us two weeks’ notice. \n\nThis class has been canceled due to a conflict with the presenter. A new date will be scheduled as soon as possible. \nClass Description\nFrom anniversary presents to strangers in airport bathrooms\, Blowjobs are a ubiquitous part of our sexual culture\, and frankly can be fun to give and receive\, but most of us never get any instruction on how to best suck dick\, or what to do with our hands. This class is intended to review the basics of providing or receiving fellatio\, and create a space for the sharing of best practices on how to pleasure partners with penises. \nWe’ll go over the art of giving a blowjob\, starting before anything is ever in a mouth to how to know if you’ve finished. As penis are as diverse as those of us who have them\, we’ll go over factors that can impact pleasure for both giver and receiver\, including basic anatomy of a penis. We’ll also go over communication before during and after a blowjob so you can continue to improve your skills as an oral top or bottom. \nNo supplies are needed for this class\, but feel free to bring your favorite phallus or phallic objects to practice on. This is not a deepthroating class\, so no need to break out the bananas or eggplants\, though they’re always welcome. \nWhether you’re a cocksucker extraordinaire or have just recently been a little curious about penises\, this class aims to provide you with something new. All skill levels\, experiences\, and anatomies are welcome. \nPresenter Bio\nMo or @MoProblems (any/all) is a queer genderfluid kinkster entering a second year in the local DC scene. Mo has been exploring what it means to exist on both sides of the slash. A frequent student of Black Rose\, Mo is a new presenter with a decade of experience as a trainer and coach\, and nearly 20 years of experience with both sides of a blowjob.

SUMMARY:Community Outreach: Your Privacy Online with Alex McGeorge
DESCRIPTION:Accessibility accommodations are available upon request to accessibility@br.org. Please give us two weeks’ notice. \n\nClass Description\nThe changing US political landscape along with our ever increasing integration with various types of computing has many concerned about their privacy and anonymity. This class details common sense steps you can take to increase your privacy\, security\, and anonymity while doing such previously mundane things as: looking at porn\, crossing borders\, booking medical appointments\, attending political actions\, simply existing in America! I will only cover topics related to personal security\, anything that would generally be covered by a business or organization paying a consultant is off limits. \nPresenter Bio\nAlex McGeorge has been involved with BDSM in the DMV for a truly boring amount of time. He currently is best known as co-organizer and event runner for The Crucible’s Dungeon 101. Alex has taught on spanking since 2012 through Dungeon 101 and at events for Black Rose\, FetFest\, CLAW Getaway 2022 and internationally. When not enjoying the suffering of others Alex works on the offensive side of computer security for a cloud provider\, enjoys running around in nature and sometimes indulging in his compulsion to get into places he’s not supposed to be. \nThis is a community outreach event and attendance is free of charge to current members and folks newer to Black Rose.\n\nTo minimize disruption\, there will be no admittance after 8:30.

SUMMARY:Kink While BIPOC Panel Discussion Facilitated by Mo
DESCRIPTION:Class Description\nJoin us for a candid and affirming conversation centering the experiences of BIPOC individuals within the kink community. This panel brings together a diverse group of Black\, Indigenous\, and People of Color to share personal stories\, reflections\, and insights on navigating kink as part of their full\, complex identities. \nFrom finding belonging and joy in kink spaces to navigating cultural expectations and building affirming connections\, panelists will explore how race\, heritage\, and kink intersect in unique and powerful ways. Whether you’re curious\, questioning\, or fully immersed\, this conversation offers space to learn\, connect\, and celebrate the richness of BIPOC presence in kink. \nNavigating Identity and Cultural Expectations\nPanelists may explore how their cultural or familial backgrounds shape their relationship to kink\, sexuality\, and bodily autonomy. This includes navigating shame\, secrecy\, or silence in communities where open conversations about desire may be rare—and how individuals have found ways to reclaim and redefine pleasure on their own terms. \nRepresentation and Community Building\nThe conversation may highlight the importance of representation in kink spaces—seeing other BIPOC individuals in roles of dominance\, submission\, leadership\, or creative expression—and the power of finding or creating community that reflects your lived experience. Panelists might share how they’ve cultivated spaces of affirmation\, safety\, and mutual understanding\, both online and in person. \nJoy\, Play\, and Liberation\nBeyond challenges\, the panel will make space for joy—discussing the freedom\, creativity\, and healing that kink can offer. Expect reflections on how kink can be a source of empowerment\, a way to explore identity in expansive ways\, and a practice of pleasure and play rooted in self-determination. \nConsent\, Boundaries\, and Racial Dynamics\nPanelists may also share how they navigate consent and communication in scenes that involve mixed racial dynamics—the setting of clear boundaries\, or addressing moments of discomfort or harm. This includes discussions of how to uphold agency and safety while exploring complex power exchanges. \nAdvice for BIPOC Newcomers\nTo close\, the panel might offer insight or encouragement for BIPOC individuals new to the kink scene—naming practical ways to find community\, avoid tokenization\, and engage in kink practices that feel affirming\, safe\, and exciting. Whether through mentorship\, events\, or personal exploration\, the message will be clear: you belong. \nFacilitator Bio\nMo or @MoProblems (any/all) is a queer genderfluid kinkster entering a second year in the local DC scene. Mo has been exploring what it means to exist on both sides of the slash.
