SUMMARY:New and Curious Kinksters
DESCRIPTION:Black Rose’s New and Curious Kinksters (or NaCK)\, is a discussion group designed for people who are new(ish) to the scene. While we highly recommend all new kinksters check out Gateway (the first/last Thursday of each month – always the day before D101) and Dungeon 101 (the first Friday of each month) and come with questions about their experiences\, it is not required\, and we welcome anyone new to kink. Please note NaCK is for asking questions\, there will be no presentation or monologuing. \nWe meet the 4th Thursday of the month from 6:30 to 8:00pm. We are going to try out having virtual NaCK. I know many of us have Zoom fatigue\, but this is a more responsible approach. We’ll chat about whatever comes up – everything from “what do I wear to the club?” to “I had this great scene\, but this part didn’t go well. What do you suggest?” NaCK has a rotating group of experienced kinksters come in to answer questions\, so the discussion is always a little bit different\, and we aim to provide a variety of answers from different D/s roles\, genders\, races\, and backgrounds. \nIf you are still in the beginning of your kink journey\, we hope you’ll come join us to ask questions and share advice. We’d love to have you!

SUMMARY:Kink and the LGBTQ+ Community: History and Active Allyship with Nijntje
DESCRIPTION:Class Description\nLearn about the rich history of the LGBTQ+ community and its overlap with the kink community\, discuss the importance of queer inclusion\, and learn practical ways to amp up your LGBTQ+ allyship both in the community as a whole and with play partners. This class will benefit LGBTQ+ people and cisgender/heterosexual people alike. In this welcoming and open environment\, we will foster a discussion that allows you to ask questions you may not be able to ask your queer friends. Come learn and grow with us! \nStructure: \n\nBrief LGBTQ+ 102 (beyond the acronym: what is gender and sexual diversity? why are queer people more likely to engage with kink and polyamory)\nAn abridged history of the LGBTQ+ community and kink\nWho cares? Why should we be active allies? Why is queer inclusion vital to preserving kink spaces?\nHow do you work toward being a better ally in both the general community and with people you would like to/do play with?\nBonus: queer theory in kink (queering your play- gender experimentation through kink\, dehumanization\, and power exchange as coping skills and self-expression)\nQ&A: This is the space to ask difficult questions as long as they are asked in good faith (without the goal of an argument).\n\nExpected outcomes:\nParticipants will foster a better understanding of the LGBTQ+ community. Participants will be able to participate in the preservation of kink history through verbal storytelling. Participants will learn about the importance of and practical ways to improve and practice queer allyship. SUMMARY:Kink While BIPOC Panel Discussion Facilitated by Mo
DESCRIPTION:Class Description\nJoin us for a candid and affirming conversation centering the experiences of BIPOC individuals within the kink community. This panel brings together a diverse group of Black\, Indigenous\, and People of Color to share personal stories\, reflections\, and insights on navigating kink as part of their full\, complex identities. \nFrom finding belonging and joy in kink spaces to navigating cultural expectations and building affirming connections\, panelists will explore how race\, heritage\, and kink intersect in unique and powerful ways. Whether you’re curious\, questioning\, or fully immersed\, this conversation offers space to learn\, connect\, and celebrate the richness of BIPOC presence in kink. \nNavigating Identity and Cultural Expectations\nPanelists may explore how their cultural or familial backgrounds shape their relationship to kink\, sexuality\, and bodily autonomy. This includes navigating shame\, secrecy\, or silence in communities where open conversations about desire may be rare—and how individuals have found ways to reclaim and redefine pleasure on their own terms. \nRepresentation and Community Building\nThe conversation may highlight the importance of representation in kink spaces—seeing other BIPOC individuals in roles of dominance\, submission\, leadership\, or creative expression—and the power of finding or creating community that reflects your lived experience. Panelists might share how they’ve cultivated spaces of affirmation\, safety\, and mutual understanding\, both online and in person. \nJoy\, Play\, and Liberation\nBeyond challenges\, the panel will make space for joy—discussing the freedom\, creativity\, and healing that kink can offer. Expect reflections on how kink can be a source of empowerment\, a way to explore identity in expansive ways\, and a practice of pleasure and play rooted in self-determination. \nConsent\, Boundaries\, and Racial Dynamics\nPanelists may also share how they navigate consent and communication in scenes that involve mixed racial dynamics—the setting of clear boundaries\, or addressing moments of discomfort or harm. This includes discussions of how to uphold agency and safety while exploring complex power exchanges. \nAdvice for BIPOC Newcomers\nTo close\, the panel might offer insight or encouragement for BIPOC individuals new to the kink scene—naming practical ways to find community\, avoid tokenization\, and engage in kink practices that feel affirming\, safe\, and exciting. Whether through mentorship\, events\, or personal exploration\, the message will be clear: you belong. \nFacilitator Bio\nMo or @MoProblems (any/all) is a queer genderfluid kinkster entering a second year in the local DC scene. Mo has been exploring what it means to exist on both sides of the slash. A frequent student of Black Rose\, Mo is a new presenter with a decade of experience as a trainer and coach\, and nearly 20 years of experience with both sides of a blowjob. \nTickets are $5 for Black Rose Members and Members of Reciprocal Groups with their Membership Card and $10 for non-members. \nAll ticket sales are at the door. \n\nEmail info@br.org for more information about Black Rose or its events. \nAccessibility accommodations are available upon request to accessibility@br.org.

SUMMARY:Creating Intimacy and Connection within a Rope Scene with Sam
DESCRIPTION:Class Description\nSo you know how to tie a single column\, maybe you can even throw on a harness… but past patterns and knots\, there is a lovely person at the end of our ropes…\nso how do we go from just using our technical skills\, to creating a real connection with the person you’re tying? Whether you’re new\, experienced\, tying someone for the first time or with your established rope partner\, this class will show you ways and concepts to create impactful intimacy in your rope scenes and beyond. \nRope is the conduit\, connection is the goal. \nPurpose: Teaching skills & concepts to Rope tops & switches on how to create connection in and out of a rope scene. \nStructure will be a mix of lecture\, Demoing\, and some exercises for participants. \nI would recommend folks bring at least 1-2 hanks of rope\, and shears/cutting device. \nSkill level: Any\, preferably at least comfortable tying a single column of their choice. \nPresenter Bio\nSam (they/them) is a queer\, non-binary\, neurodivergent\, rope-obsessed goblin with a great love for movement\, all things touch\, and learning the what/why/how of connection between beings. Basically\, an intimacy slut. They’ve been a rope bottom for 7 years\, switch/self-tier/Top for 2 years\, and a kinkster longer than that. \nAs a certified Professional Cuddler\, they are passionate about touch rooted in consent and pleasure\, and will scream from the rooftops about how connection is vital to healing and living a joyful life. \nThis goblin helps perpetuate the rope bottom to self tier to Top pipeline and is proud of it. \n\nTo minimize disruption\, there will be no admittance after 8:30. \nThis is not a play party. Do not attempt to engage in scenes or solicit others for play\, except for labbing as part of a workshop-style class. \nTickets are $5 for Black Rose Members and Members of Reciprocal Groups with their Membership Card and $10 for non-members. \nAll ticket sales are at the door. \nEmail info@br.org for more information about Black Rose or its events. \nAccessibility accommodations are available upon request to accessibility@br.org.
