Leather care 101 is a class for folks looking to maintain their current leathers or learn a little for future leather adventures. Every leather enthusiast has their routine and preferences for leather care. As such\, this class will not be the ultimate guide on leather care\, but suggestions from one enthusiast with a few years of experimentation. \nIf you have a pair of boots or a harness that’s been begging you to condition it\, this is your opportunity to get a second opinion and work on your leathers in a class setting. This class will be a short lecture\, followed by a workshop for folks to mess about with their leathers and ask questions. Some basic leather care supplies will be available\, but supplies are limited. There will also be a small selection of leather goods provided by Blue for folks to clean if they don’t have any leathers themselves. \nBy the end of this class\, participants will have an understanding of the function and use of leather care supplies (soaps\, conditioners\, oils\, brushes\, polish\, miscellaneous supplies). Participants will know the difference in some types of leather and their care needs. Finally\, participants will have time to clean their leathers (optional) with time to ask questions about their specific leathers. \nAttendee supplies- OPTIONAL\, presenter will supply limited extras. \n\nLeathers (cuffs\, boots\, any gear you want to clean).\nLeather care supplies\nThis is a class designed for beginners\, but is open to all levels of experience.\n\nPresenter Bio\nnocturneBlue (they/them) is a queer leather worker and part time dog out of the DMV with a passion for leather care. They’ve participated in the DMV scene since 2023 and seek to share their perspective as a leather worker from a non-kink background. As a chronic horse-girl\, Blue has been cleaning and maintaining leathers for over a decade. Owner of Nocturne Blue Leather\, they are passionate about making high quality leathers for all folks. DESCRIPTION:Dungeon 101 serves as an introduction into public BDSM play. If you have never attended a public BDSM play event\, it can be a bit daunting. The Dungeon 101 class is specifically designed to make you feel comfortable at your first public BDSM dungeon event. Attendees and presenters come from a diverse cross section of the community\, all orientations\, genders and kinks are welcome. You are welcome to come alone\, bring a friend or bring a bunch of friends. \nFrom 7:30 until 8:00 PM will be social time. Starting at 8:00 PM\, there will be a talk on scene etiquette and an opportunity to learn about the dungeon itself. Directly following will be a “Exploratorium” event until 11:00 PM where you can try and/or experience many different kinds of play scenes. The idea is for it to be a fun evening for everyone! \nNo advance tickets are available for this event –  please plan to arrive early and pay at the door. \n  \n$10 with Gateway card\,\n$25 members with membership card\,\n$35 all others \nMore experienced folk come on out after 11:00 PM for Open Play. We ask that everyone except presenters keep their toy bags put away until Open Play starts to avoid confusion. No scenes or play permitted during the Exploratorium. \n  \nThis is an outreach event\, you do not need to be a BR or Crucible member to attend. \nIn order to foster a learning environment\, there is no sex allowed at Dungeon 101\, and no alcohol is sold. DESCRIPTION:Black Rose’s New and Curious Kinksters (or NaCK)\, is a discussion group designed for people who are new(ish) to the scene. While we highly recommend all new kinksters check out Gateway (the first/last Thursday of each month – always the day before D101) and Dungeon 101 (the first Friday of each month) and come with questions about their experiences\, it is not required\, and we welcome anyone new to kink. Please note NaCK is for asking questions\, there will be no presentation or monologuing. \nWe meet the 4th Thursday of the month from 6:30 to 8:00pm. We are going to try out having virtual NaCK. I know many of us have Zoom fatigue\, but this is a more responsible approach. We’ll chat about whatever comes up – everything from “what do I wear to the club?” to “I had this great scene\, but this part didn’t go well. Start here! \nIn rope suspension\, the person in rope is attached not only to themselves but also to a point above them. This class focuses on understanding and mitigating the risks incurred by choices made physically above the person in rope during suspension. Attendees will learn about hardpoint evaluation\, choosing suspension equipment\, secure upline lockoffs\, and how to respond to a rope jam. Those participating will use a bag to practice building a hanger\, constructing a pulley system with an upline\, and securely locking off the upline.\n \nParticipation is not required to attend. This information is also valuable for those who want to evaluate their risk profiles around hardpoints\, suspension gear\, and upline lockoffs. \nPlease Note: No humans will be suspended during this class. This class does not “certify” you to suspend. We will only be covering risk factors above the person in rope during this class\, which is a small portion of overall suspension safety information. DESCRIPTION:Dungeon 101 serves as an introduction into public BDSM play. If you have never attended a public BDSM play event\, it can be a bit daunting. The Dungeon 101 class is specifically designed to make you feel comfortable at your first public BDSM dungeon event. Attendees and presenters come from a diverse cross section of the community\, all orientations\, genders and kinks are welcome. You are welcome to come alone\, bring a friend or bring a bunch of friends. \nFrom 7:30 until 8:00 PM will be social time. Starting at 8:00 PM\, there will be a talk on scene etiquette and an opportunity to learn about the dungeon itself. Directly following will be a “Exploratorium” event until 11:00 PM where you can try and/or experience many different kinds of play scenes. The idea is for it to be a fun evening for everyone! \nNo advance tickets are available for this event –  please plan to arrive early and pay at the door. \n  \n$10 with Gateway card\,\n$25 members with membership card\,\n$35 all others \nMore experienced folk come on out after 11:00 PM for Open Play.
