Please bring all questions you may have about D/s\, M/s\, rituals\, victuals\, brats\, splats\, and mats. \nThe topic of tonight’s discussion is Modifying D/s When Things Come Up. Things happen in life\, and sometimes relationships have to evolve. How do we manage this and keep everyone as comfortable and safe as possible? Although there is a topic for the discussion\, given the intent of this group to be a place for sharing\, we will not be strict about keeping to the topic. \nYou are free to arrive anytime after 6:30. Before the discussion starts\, there will be a chance to mingle and eat dinner. Please bring your own food or snacks if you want. Discussion will begin at 7:00. \nFor this event\, we will be hosting in our home in Arlington\, specifically North Highland\, roughly 10 minutes from Courthouse Metro. This can hinder your progress and focus\, much like driving without directions. \nIn this class we’ll talk about states of mind and how they affect your responses\, practice self-soothing and troubleshooting skills\, and gain valuable insights into navigating heightened emotional situations that you may encounter during your journey. \nPlease note: This class involves optional participation and respectful\, high-level discussions about potentially activating topics. \nPresenter Bio\nHeart (she/they) is a polyamorous neurodivergent switch who started in the DC swinger and kink scenes in 2018. DESCRIPTION:Class Description\nGetting the crap kicked out of you can be cathartic\, overwhelming\, and liberating. Whether with a paddle\, flogger\, cane\, boots\, or fists\, it’s a great way to suffer. This class will teach the physical aspects of receiving impact\, including how to position yourself\, what body parts can take a lot and what needs to be protected\, and how to give feedback for a gauge test. We’ll also cover communication during impact play\, aftercare\, and a few advanced topics. There will be a demo\, during which participants are welcome to practice as well. Although this class is primarily for bottoms\, tops will find it informative as well\, particularly regarding injury mitigation and management. \nPresenter Bio\nMeredith has been doing kinky stuff for over 20 years. She identifies as queer\, a masochist\, an s-type\, Leather\, and an educator. DESCRIPTION:Black Rose’s New and Curious Kinksters (or NaCK)\, is a discussion group designed for people who are new(ish) to the scene. While we highly recommend all new kinksters check out Gateway (the first/last Thursday of each month – always the day before D101) and Dungeon 101 (the first Friday of each month) and come with questions about their experiences\, it is not required\, and we welcome anyone new to kink. Please note NaCK is for asking questions\, there will be no presentation or monologuing. \nWe meet the 4th Thursday of the month from 6:30 to 8:00pm. We are going to try out having virtual NaCK. I know many of us have Zoom fatigue\, but this is a more responsible approach. We’ll chat about whatever comes up – everything from “what do I wear to the club?” to “I had this great scene\, but this part didn’t go well. What do you suggest?” NaCK has a rotating group of experienced kinksters come in to answer questions\, so the discussion is always a little bit different\, and we aim to provide a variety of answers from different D/s roles\, genders\, races\, and backgrounds. \nIf you are still in the beginning of your kink journey\, we hope you’ll come join us to ask questions and share advice.
