Submissives may long to endure more pain or provide specific acts of service\, dominants may want to top at a certain intensity level or engage in specific forms of control – but chronic illness\, pain\, disability\, fatigue\, neurodivergence\, trauma responses\, and mental health challenges can get in the way. We’ll explore the grief\, shame\, and vulnerability that arises when this happens\, and discuss practical adaptations\, communication strategies\, and creative renegotiation. Attendees will examine internalized ableism and self-induced pressure to “perform\,” and leave with tools to honor ourselves and our partners exactly as we are. \nPresenter Bio\nMeredith has been doing kinky stuff for over 20 years. She identifies as queer\, a masochist\, an s-type\, Leather\, and an educator. SUMMARY:New and Curious Kinksters
DESCRIPTION:Black Rose’s New and Curious Kinksters (or NaCK)\, is a discussion group designed for people who are new(ish) to the scene. While we highly recommend all new kinksters check out Gateway (the first/last Thursday of each month – always the day before D101) and Dungeon 101 (the first Friday of each month) and come with questions about their experiences\, it is not required\, and we welcome anyone new to kink. Please note NaCK is for asking questions\, there will be no presentation or monologuing. \nWe meet the 4th Thursday of the month from 6:30 to 8:00pm. We are going to try out having virtual NaCK. I know many of us have Zoom fatigue\, but this is a more responsible approach. We’ll chat about whatever comes up – everything from “what do I wear to the club?” to “I had this great scene\, but this part didn’t go well. What do you suggest?” NaCK has a rotating group of experienced kinksters come in to answer questions\, so the discussion is always a little bit different\, and we aim to provide a variety of answers from different D/s roles\, genders\, races\, and backgrounds. \nIf you are still in the beginning of your kink journey\, we hope you’ll come join us to ask questions and share advice. In a D/s dynamic\, punishment is not just about correcting behavior. It is about accountability\, authority\, communication\, and understanding the immense responsibility that accompanies power exchange.\n \nPunishment and Protocol takes a real-world look at how punishment can be used within a consensual D/s dynamic and the role protocol plays in creating structure with clarity. Sir PUL and BiteMeThere will discuss setting expectations\, establishing meaningful protocol\, recognizing the difference between a mistake and intentional disobedience\, and deciding when a situation calls for communication\, correction\, consequences\, or punishment. \nThrough open discussion\, relatable scenarios\, and a live demonstration\, we will look at punishment from both sides of the slash. We will talk about what makes discipline effective\, why consistency matters\, and why a Dominant has to be just as intentional about exercising authority as a submissive is about following it. \nPresenter Bio\nI have been known as BiteMeThere for the last 15 years. My path in the kink space has been anything but linear. My journey has largely centered around building communities where people who look like me can thrive. Through my writings\, teaching\, and community engagement\, I continue to explore the intersections of power dynamics\, service\, vulnerability\, and what it means to trust.
