DESCRIPTION:Class Description\nThis panel on disability perspectives in kink has the purpose of fostering understanding\, inclusivity\, and empowerment within the kink community. By providing a platform for dialogue\, education\, and sharing of experiences\, we are aiming to dismantle stigmas\, address misconceptions\, and advocate for the rights and needs of individuals with disabilities in kinky spaces. Through discussions on accessibility\, consent\, adaptation\, and pleasure\, we hope these kinds of panels promote a more inclusive and supportive environment where everyone can explore and express their desires authentically\, regardless of ability. \nThis panel discussion will not encompass all disabilities and experiences\, but is meant to help some folks start a dialogue and consider how going forward we can collectively normalize these conversations. \nTo better accommodate attendees and participants with a variety of disabilities\, we are asking that attendees wear masks. DESCRIPTION:Class Description\nWe all know the importance of vetting\, but are we really doing it effectively? What other tools and resources do you have to keep yourself safe? This workshop focuses on how to vet a potential partner\, questions to ask\, how to evaluate the answers\, and some of the tools at your disposal. We will also discuss keeping yourself safe during your initial meeting and play\, as well as red flags that can be hidden further down the line. \nPresenter Bio\nAJ Renard (she/her) has been involved in the BDSM world her entire adult life\, although she was a dark little thing far before that. AJ works in the mental health field and has a deep passion for teaching about BDSM and consent. She finds her happy place when there is rope\, electricity\, knives\, boots\, fear\, and a lot of crying involved. In her limited free time she makes custom chainmaille for her shop\, Foxy Feisty Redhead. \nAJ teaches a variety of classes about consent\, negotiations\, perspectives on D/s\, bottoming for intense scenes and edge play\, mental health and BDSM\, and behavioral science in PE dynamics. SUMMARY:Bringing the Play into Playspaces with Lee (Not Harrington)
DESCRIPTION:Class Description\nWhy are playgrounds important? Playgrounds and play encourage growth\, learning\, development\, communication\, relationships\, boundaries\, and a sense of self worth. All are welcome in this class and tools and exercises are built for all levels of attendees – regardless of experience\, identifiers\, “type of player”\, or side of the slash- this class is for you. \nThe objective of this class is to reinvigorate a sense of play\, exploration\, and creativity in order to build ability\, confidence\, and relationships in play and play spaces. This is a class of doing and discussing\, as opposed to handouts and note taking. T-shirts / loose fitting clothing or gym appropriate clothing is encouraged for this class. There will be accessible movement\, negotiated touching\, partnering up and changing partners throughout these exercises. This class will have noises like crinkling paper\, loud voices and other sounds. Sound dampening devices are welcome. Gloves and masks are welcome and will be available\, but may or may not be required (depending on rates of infection or immune-compromised attendance). A large part of this class will be negotiating personal boundaries and needs in short bursts of time\, and learning to explore within those boundaries. You will need to adapt to the level of safety determined by your partners as we go around the room. This class will not be suited for recording and attendance needs to be in person. This class may be embarrassing\, discomforting\, and may lead to uncontrolled laughter and silliness. Playgrounds are designed for growth\, and growth is frequently uncomfortable. \nPresenter Bio\nLee (NOT Harrington) laughs that she / they are older than Fet\, and has more than 20 years in the DC region BDSM community and considers themselves a power flexible\, switchy\, neurospicy\, LGBTQIA+ person.
