Service and Sensuality: Bootblacking Scenes with NocturneBlue

Class Description

You know how to clean a pair of boots. What’s next? You clean someone else’s boots! This course will share what makes bootblacking a scene, and how to elevate your bootblacking service. By the end of this class, participants will learn tips on improving their workflow, will be equipped to create a bootblacking scene or work a stand, and will explore bootblacking as a form of connection. Skill Level This class assumes a basic knowledge of leathercare, but can be attended by all. Structure This class will be a lecture with a demonstration.

Presenter Bio

nocturneBlue (he/him) is a queer leather worker and part-time dog out of the DMV with a passion for boots and rope. Upon joining the BDSM scene, Blue fell in love with bootblacking as a medium for service, sadism, and sensuality. Blue has been cleaning and maintaining leathers for over a decade as a chronic horse-girl. As a rope dog, Blue seeks to share his experience as a self-suspender with an enthusiasm for teaching and rope performance. Blue currently facilitates the Crucible’s monthly rope share, and has presented at Camp Crucible (2026), Crucible Con (2026), and Black Rose (2025, 2026). Owner of Nocturne Blue Leather, Blue is passionate about making high-quality leathers for all folks.

To minimize disruption, there will be no admittance after 8:30.

This is not a play party. Do not attempt to engage in scenes or solicit others for play, except for labbing as part of a workshop-style class.

Tickets are $5 for Black Rose Members and Members of Reciprocal Groups with their Membership Card and $10 for non-members.
