Take a minute to capture that fabulous outfit in the Photo room. A person or group will be allowed to enter the room to take some snap shots. Our BR Staff will be checking to make sure no one is in the photo room that hasn’t consented to do so.

Are you a presenter with a class idea you’d like to do? Are you interested in teaching it at Black Rose? Fill out this form! It will go to the Education Team, who will review your submission and get back to you if they’re interested.

Does the complex puzzle of process and procedure running and grinding inexorably toward action excite you?

Then consider running for the board, Ombuds, or Arbiter!!

Nominations open March 15, 2024 and close April 30, 2024.  

You can nominate yourself and/or someone you think would do great things for the organization.

At the January Board meeting, the BR Board of Directors voted to remove our vaccination requirement for main BR events. Currently, that means events held at The Crucible, which is Tuesday classes, Gateway, and socials. This brings us into alignment with The Crucible’s own vaccination policy.

Coordinators of SIGs and other event teams (e.g. Charmed!) can continue making their own choices, so check the specific event for its requirements.

We will be updating event descriptions on Fetlife and our website as time allows, and new events will not include a vaccination requirement.

Due to inclement weather in the Washington area on January 16, all Black Rose events are cancelled. Please stay safe.

Hollywood Nights

Lights! Camera! Ass-on!

Have you ever wanted to see your name in lights? Do you love the big screen, and dream of yourself as the star of the show? Join Black Rose for a special evening when you are the star!

BR Presents: Hollywood Nights is your chance to shine! Dreaming of becoming the next photographer capturing the special moments?

We will be offering a special photography workshop from 8-10 pm with @ShutterDoll and and @CarmenMonoxide. This will help you learn how to up your photography game both in and out of the playspace. This is a time to bring your photo gear out to the Crucible and get a chance to work on your photography in a full kink space!

Excited to take more photos? Once the play party starts at 9 pm there will be a dedicated space to practice your photography with whatever kind of play you want to do. Bring your gear, bring your partners, bring your friends, and come and have a good time. Not into photography? Not to worry! The photography area will be sectioned off and cameras will only be allowed in the closed off space.

As always, open play will be available with all of the Crucible’s dungeon equipment for your enjoyment from 9 pm until 2 am.

The Black Rose Annual Meeting will be on Tuesday, August 1. Come hear about the great things we accomplished last year, and the great things we’re planning to do this year!

Step into a realm where stars twinkle, planets align, and galaxies come alive at our spectacular Outer Space Party! Embark on an interstellar voyage with us where out-of-this-world attire and zero-gravity moves collide, as we play among the stars.

Show us your Galaxy Girl and Buzz Lightyear looks. Bring your pulsing tentacle toys and enjoy getting so floaty you drift into [top|sub] space. This is an 18+ event! There will be non-alcoholic beverages available for purchase. Doors open at 9PM.

Bad actors pose as Black Rose, promise your dreams, steal your money

The Black Rose (BR) Board of Directors is aware of several scams/frauds involving the malicious use of the Black Rose name. These incidents are ongoing and have involved circumstances such as:

• Being asked to pay for a collaring ceremony
• Being recruited as a registered slave for Black Rose
• Being asked to pay additional fees for toys and/or kits

BR reminds everyone we never charge fees outside of our membership fees (listed at br.org/membership) or event fees (listed at br.org/calendar). In addition, BR does not ever license anyone to recruit for our organization. We operate solely in the Washington, DC area and have no branches or chapters in any other location.

Please use caution in your financial transactions. Diligence is always the best protection against this type of fraud. Each report we’ve received about these incidents has come from potential victims who checked with us because something seemed amiss. Remember, in the age of the internet, not everyone is who they claim to be.

The election is over and the members have spoken! The new BR Board, as well as our other elected leaders, take their seats today. Let’s thank them all for their leadership and service to the organization. Join us in welcoming:
