Leather Care 101 and Bootblacking Basics with Blue
May 20 @ 8:00 PM - 9:30 PM
$5 – $10
Class Description
Bring your leathers and saddle soap! Or don’t! Leather care 101 is a class for folks looking to maintain their current leathers or learn a little for future leather adventures. Every leather enthusiast has their routine and preferences for leather care. As such, this class will not be the ultimate guide on leather care, but suggestions from one enthusiast with a few years of experimentation.
If you have a pair of boots or a harness that’s been begging you to condition it, this is your opportunity to get a second opinion and work on your leathers in a class setting. This class will be a short lecture, followed by a workshop for folks to mess about with their leathers and ask questions. Some basic leather care supplies will be available, but supplies are limited. There will also be a small selection of leather goods provided by Blue for folks to clean if they don’t have any leathers themselves.
By the end of this class, participants will have an understanding of the function and use of leather care supplies (soaps, conditioners, oils, brushes, polish, miscellaneous supplies). Participants will know the difference in some types of leather and their care needs. Finally, participants will have time to clean their leathers (optional) with time to ask questions about their specific leathers.
Attendee supplies- OPTIONAL, presenter will supply limited extras.
- Leathers (cuffs, boots, any gear you want to clean).
- Leather care supplies
This is a class designed for beginners, but is open to all levels of experience.
